Telehealth

Telehealth

Ixencion offers appointments by secure video where that setting is appropriate for the person, the concern, and the circumstances.

Telehealth is the current delivery setting. It can make therapy more reachable when distance, schedule, or local availability would otherwise get in the way, provided the practical and clinical conditions are suitable.

What telehealth usually requires

For telehealth to work well, you will generally need:

  • a private place where you can speak freely
  • a stable internet connection
  • a suitable device with camera and audio
  • a backup phone number
  • your current location details for the appointment where required
  • referral information where relevant

What to expect from the setting

Telehealth works best when privacy, connection quality, and the demands of the day allow enough room to focus. A quiet space, a charged device, and a reliable connection support the work.

If technology fails or privacy is interrupted, the session may need to pause, move to phone contact, or be rescheduled according to what is clinically appropriate.

Limits of telehealth

Telehealth is not the right setting for every person or every presentation. Some situations call for urgent local support, a higher level of care, or more coordinated in-person services.

Ixencion is not an emergency service. If there is immediate danger, call 000 or attend the nearest emergency department. In Australia, Lifeline is available on 13 11 14.
