Ixencion is based in Orange. If you live here, seeing a psychologist by video means no commute, no waiting room, and no gap fee with a valid referral.
What Ixencion offers people in Orange
Therapy by telehealth. Individual sessions with a registered psychologist, 50 minutes by video from your home. Bulk billed with a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. You pay nothing for the session.
Without a referral, sessions are $180, or $120 with a student concession.
Adult ADHD assessment. A structured assessment covering clinical interview, standardised measures, and a written report. One flat fee of $360. No GP referral needed to start. It begins with a free 15-minute consult by phone or video.
Therapy can continue at Ixencion after an assessment, bulk billed with a valid referral.
Psychology access in Orange
Orange is the largest city in the Central West, home to 43,512 people at the 2021 Census. It has more services than much of regional NSW, including general practices that prepare Mental Health Treatment Plans and a headspace centre for people aged 12 to 25. Orange is also home to the Charles Sturt University health sciences campus, where the Rural Health Research Institute has a particular focus on rural mental health.
Even so, capacity for individual psychology sessions is limited. The Central West sits within the Western NSW PHN footprint, a region where a federal workforce report projects psychologist demand outpacing supply for the next fifteen years.
Ixencion adds capacity for adults who can engage by video.
How to start
For therapy: Visit your usual GP practice in Orange and ask about a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral to a psychologist. Your usual practice is the one that provides most of your care, or where you’re registered with MyMedicare. Once you have a referral, book online.
For an ADHD assessment: No referral needed. Book the free 15-minute consult and go from there.
If you are in immediate danger or crisis, call 000, or Lifeline on 13 11 14. Ixencion is not an emergency service.
